Ancillary task - Album cover.
This is my album cover is created for my artist Dan Rugg. The image on the furthest right is my front album cover. I think this is a good image because it is a clear picture of Dan and he is considered attractive so it will catch the attention of females. My target audience are mainly teenage females therefor i think this works very well. Also the image in the middle is the picture that is going to be on the back of my CD case. This picture has deep meanings because he looks like he is standing there thinking about something while looking over a town. The furthest left image of two people holding hands symbolises that Dan Rugg is in a relationship with a girl. It is going to be the image on the inside of the CD case. This is quite a striking image with the colour of the setting sun and the hands infront of it.

Album Cover Research
From doing these deconstructions of existing album covers I have decided for my album cover to have my lead performer on the front looking out into the audience to engage with them and to attract them to the album. I got this idea because I have seen that many album covers of the same genre have either a single artist or the band on the front so people can recognise them. I think this will be an effective idea because people will see Daniel's face on the front and if they recognised him already and know he is a good artist they will want to listen to his new songs and buy his new album.

First Sneak Peek of Our Music Video
This is the start of our filming for our music video. We have got a few nice shots in here for example the shot where Dan is walking through the arch where you can see out to sea. Also the shots where he is looking out to sea looking sad sum up the storyline.

Preliminary filming with voiceover
This is our preliminary filming in which we are just practising a variation of shots so we can get to see what it's like. It also helped us to get used to iMovie and the other equipment we will need to use to edit and to see what flows well.
It was also very useful to see what it's like to film all these different shots and see what they look like straight away and see if they are good enough shots.

Audience Feedback
We did this audience feedback to show what kind of people our music video would appeal to. We chose to interview 3 males because we wanted a male perspective to our idea because if boys like music videos it subverts the stereotypes because our music video is mainly focused towards teenage and young women because it is romantic. We have also added information about the three boys such as their favourite kind of music and their age. This shows their interests and what kind of people are watching my music video.

- Elbows tucked in tight for camera stability
-Make sure shots are always practiced before you film
- Someone behind you holding you for support and stability
- Direct the actors and make sure they know there marks in order to save film, eg. markings on the floor, learn the song well
- Always film more footage than you need as you can always edit and cut away film
- Count down- "filming in 5,4,3,2,1.."
- Use sentences like "Quiet on set" or "Camera Rolling"
- "Camera Turning 3,2,1"
-ALWAYS film more footage than needed to help editing

Equipment
- Video Camera
- Filming/Transport to Location Car
- Guitar
- Natural lighting
- Computer-editing
Our film is quite simple and doesn't need a lot of equipment so we only really need a camera, a car for tracking shots and an acoustic guitar for the chorus'. All of these things are easy to get for us so this wont be a problem.

Risk Assessment
After visiting shot locations for the video, I assessed potential hazards and risks that could occur when filming.
Beach- With the stony/ uneven surface at Sidmouth beach, it could be hard to keep balance and may result in an actor falling over or something similar. To avoid this the actors will be briefed on making sure they stay in control of their actions and to make sure they are aware of what they are doing.
Roundball Hill- With Autumn / winter approaching, it is likely to be wet or damp on the hill which could again result in slips and falls from the actors. To avoid this the actors will again be briefed on exactly what they are to do and make sure they behave sensibly. Also if it is rather slippery, safer and more appropriate footwear will be used for extra grip.
Filming car- As a car will be used as a way of shooting tracking shots ect, there is always an element of risk as accidents could occur. To ensure this does not happen the driver will be told to drive slowly, safely and responsibly.
West Hill woods- Much like the hill and the beach, there is a possibility of the actors tripping over, with things like tree roots and uneven ground. To make it as safe as possible, we will walk slowly, carefully and once again brief the actors and make sure they know what the possible risks are and that they behave responsibly. Also we will make sure when filming the path the actors will be taking is clear of things such as fallen branches.

Location shots

| This is a scene on Sidmouth beach that we may use. It's a good image because it is perfect for a couple to just be sitting there. |
![]() |
| This is an arch in Sidmouth also, I felt this would be a good place to see a couple talking with each other and then maybe get a shot of the male lead sad. |
![]() |
| This is a very romantic kind of shot which is perfect for our genre so our idea was that we have our cast sitting on this hill, or walking on it and having a nice time. |

Magnum photographers.

I
like this image because of the way the character in the image isn’t focusing on
the camera but instead is looking away which makes him seem disinterested.
Also the cigar makes it seem as though he is quite wealthy and important.

This is a strong representation of racism
because the “white” sink is more modern and better than the “coloured” sink
which means whites are more privileged.

This is a strong image to represent war
because there is some Muslim men holding guns in a line formation clearly all
aiming at a target.
